The business relies on Internet-based transactions to purchase product and manage shipping and distribution between their warehouses and retail outlets. The daily productivity of the business relies on their ability to communicate and process transactions with remote sites, suppliers, and shipping companies across the country.

The Business Challenge

The client determined that lost connectivity at a major distribution center could affect a number of smaller warehouses and local retail outlets with lost sales, lost customers, and wages for several hundred non-productive employees. If the client's servers were breached during the outage, the impact could affect the entire company's operations and reputation.

The Solution

Internet Security Corporation recommened and deployed Fortinet High Availiability (HA) UTM firewalls in a cluster for each distribution center and regional warehouse. The HA feature can maintain a connection even when there is device or link failure.

With Fortinet's Rapid Response Service on these UTM firewalls, replacement devices would be shipped upon detecting a failure mode through our management console at the SOC. The replacement unit would be installed without shutting down the HA cluster, allowing for constant Internet connectivity.
